Quick answer
A genuine Ryobi 18V ONE+ battery is the safe replacement, and an aftermarket 2-pack can fit but you have to check it yourself. Ryobi says its 18V ONE+ batteries are compatible with any Ryobi 18V ONE+ product, so any pack built for that platform should physically fit your tool. What varies is whether the capacity printed on an aftermarket listing is real.

Genuine Ryobi option
Ryobi's own battery page for the 18V ONE+ 4Ah pack (PBP004) states "RYOBI 18V ONE+ batteries are compatible with any RYOBI 18V ONE+ product." See Ryobi's battery page for the current lineup.
In our check, Ryobi packs on Amazon came from third-party sellers rather than Ryobi itself. Look at the seller name and the model number in the title (PBP004, PBP005, PBP007) before you order.

Aftermarket 2-packs we looked at
These three listings are for packs that name the Ryobi 18V ONE+ platform. We confirmed on 2026-10-06 that each page exists and matches its title. We are not recommending them; we are showing you what to check.

Genuine vs aftermarket: how to read the claims
- Capacity. Capacity times voltage gives watt-hours. Ryobi does sell 8Ah and 12Ah 18V ONE+ packs (PBP1108 and PBP1008 at 8Ah, PBP1012 at 12Ah, per its own pages), so a big number is not proof of a fake. What matters is proof: ask whether the listing gives the cell type, the cell count, or a watt-hour rating. If it only gives a big number, treat the number as marketing.
- Per pack or per box. A "2-pack, 8000mAh" listing might mean 8000mAh each or in total. If the listing doesn't say, ask the seller.
- Reviews. Open the reviews and look for the tool name. Reviews for other brands, other voltages, or unrelated items mean the rating is pooled from other products.
- Fit. Check the listing names the exact Ryobi 18V ONE+ model numbers (P108, P107, PBP series) rather than just "Ryobi".
- The charger. A charger bundled with an aftermarket pack is an aftermarket charger. Don't assume it behaves like the Ryobi one.
- Seller terms. Read the seller's return and warranty terms. The tool maker's terms are on its own site.
The Ryobi charger troubleshooting guide covers what the charger lights mean if a replacement pack won't charge.
Which platform is this?
These listings are for 18V ONE+. Ryobi 40V is a separate platform, and Ryobi's dual-platform P137 charger lists 18V ONE+ and 40V batteries as two platforms. Use the battery compatibility checker if you are not sure which one your tool takes.
FAQ
Will an aftermarket pack fit my Ryobi 18V ONE+ tool?
If it is built for the 18V ONE+ platform it should mount, because Ryobi says its 18V ONE+ batteries are compatible with any 18V ONE+ product. Fit is not the same as capacity or quality, which is why the checklist above matters.
Is an 8Ah aftermarket pack really 8Ah?
We can't confirm that from a listing. Ryobi sells 8Ah packs itself (PBP1108 Lithium EDGE and PBP1008 HIGH PERFORMANCE) and a 12Ah HIGH PERFORMANCE pack (PBP1012), so the size is possible. Ask the seller for cell details and a watt-hour rating, and compare the pack's size and weight with a genuine one.
Do Ryobi 40V batteries fit 18V ONE+ tools?
No. They are separate platforms. See our Ryobi 40V battery guide.
