Quick answer

Pick a cordless angle grinder by switch type, brake and battery platform, not by the RPM on the box, and don't treat a 3-inch mini grinder as a smaller version of a 4-1/2 inch one. The DeWalt DCG413B and DCG410B and the Milwaukee 2880-20 and 2888-20 are all brushless, paddle-switch grinders on a manufacturer page we could read. The "19,500 RPM" mini grinders are a different tool class.

What the manufacturers say

We read each manufacturer's page on 2026-10-07 and give figures as labeled. All four are tool only, so a battery and charger are extra.

Model Platform Disc Speed Switch Weight Safety features the page names
DeWalt DCG413B 20V MAX XR 4-1/2 in "Maximum Speed 9000-rpm" Paddle 4.6 lb Kickback brake (stops the wheel in 2 seconds or less on average, per the page) and E-switch protection
DeWalt DCG410B 20V MAX XR 4-1/2 to 5 in "up to 9,000 RPM (no load)" Paddle 4.5 lb Anti-rotation system; the page names no kickback brake
Milwaukee 2880-20 M18 FUEL 4-1/2 to 5 in 8,500 RPM Paddle, no-lock 3.1 lb without the battery RAPIDSTOP brake, electronic clutch for kickback protection, overload protection
Milwaukee 2888-20 M18 FUEL 4-1/2 to 5 in 3,500 to 8,500 RPM across 5 settings Paddle, no-lock 3.16 lb RAPIDSTOP brake; the page names no electronic clutch

The DeWalt DCG413B and DCG410B are different models, so check which one a listing prints. The DeWalt DWE4011 corded grinder that appears on Amazon's list isn't on dewalt.com, so we don't give figures for it.

What to look at

The 19,500 RPM mini grinders

We read these listings on 2026-10-07 and are not recommending them.

Listing What it prints What we noticed
TEENO mini grinder 3 in., 16.8V 2000mAh, 19,500 RPM Carries Amazon's "Frequently returned item" badge
ZFULVO mini grinder 3 in., brushed, 16.8V 2000mAh, 19500rpm One reviewer reports it overheating after about 3 minutes
AOBEN 4-1/2 in. 21V, 2 x 4.0Ah, 9,500 RPM max One 1-star reviewer reports measuring about 2.5Ah and 8,150 RPM; this is one person's test

A smaller disc turns faster for the same surface speed, so a mini grinder's RPM isn't comparable with a 4-1/2 inch grinder's.

All four listings we checked are sold by third-party sellers, and the DCG410B listing showed low stock. The 2880-20 listing's attribute reads "Hammerdrill", and the 2888-20 title says "18V" without naming FUEL, so confirm the model number before you order.

FAQ

What is the difference between the DCG413B and DCG410B?

On DeWalt's pages the DCG413B is a 4-1/2 inch grinder with a kickback brake, and the DCG410B takes 4-1/2 to 5 inch discs and lists an anti-rotation system instead. Both are paddle-switch, brushless 20V MAX XR tools.

Does the Milwaukee 2888-20 have kickback protection?

Its page names a RAPIDSTOP brake and variable speed, and does not name the electronic clutch that the 2880-20 page lists.

Can a 3-inch mini grinder replace a 4-1/2 inch grinder?

They are different tool classes. A 3-inch disc is smaller, so check the disc sizes and the work you plan before you choose.
